They do, simply bscuaee we like to give them anthropomorphic (human-like) traits. And we can, bscuaee they don't talk back. People can imagine their pets love them even though animals do not feel love (they can give affection but not love. Love shows choice. We don't give our animals the choice to chose us. We chose them and they have to live with us.). We can be imperfect and crude and horrible base-animal ourselves with them and they don't seem to care.So with such exceptionally accepting creatures in our midst, why wouldn't they get benefits we don't? If someone who is unlikeable with twelve cats needs cats to feel like their lives are worth living, who's to say they shouldn't have them? *cough* Excuse me ^.^ As I was saying..People need animals to feed their lacking psyches. It's emotional, mental, and irrational, but dang it, that's what people are and they need someone to understand that they are, don't they?So being our bleeding hearts and our only comforts, our undoubting subordinates who can't tell us no or can't tell us things we don't like to hear, of course they get treated better than we treat ourselves or each other!It's bad reason, but who said reason had anything to do with people when they are emotional? ^_~ Was this answer helpful?
